A canopy by Designtak is always 100% handcrafted. We start with building the aluminum structure. This consists of rectangular aluminum tubes and U-profiles, which are welded together. When the framework is made, the roof structure is riveted. A support between the roof and the substructure protects against condensation. The roof is then covered with metal sheets. The roof panel is unwound from a roll and cut to the correct size, then the edges are folded to obtain the final double seam. Subsequently, a sheet is bent in a U-shape and riveted to partially serve as a gutter and a base plate, the metal strips are folded and closed at the bottom. Afterwards end caps are attached and holes for the water drain on the corresponding side are added. When we're done, a ribbon panel will be added. Most models use three metal discs that are about 50 cm wide. In addition, the sheet metal washers are connected by a double seam, which allows that all joints are completely sealed. Clamps are placed between the panes so that no fasteners are visible from the top of the pan. When the roofs are done, a neat finish is created on all sides. We attach great importance to invisible fastenings. For example, we first screwed together the mounting plate and then hung it on the plate and folded so that no screws or rivets are visible. The ceiling panels are made of 1mm white painted aluminum sheet. Before installing the ceiling panels, we make holes for headlights and lights, where they will be installed later. When the canopy is finished in the sheet metal department, it is sent to the quality manager who carefully inspects each and every canopy. Once it passed the quality checks, the canopy will be packed ready for despatch. Your Designtak canopy is on the way!
Designtak is certified to EN 1090-3 and must have the CE mark welded on aluminum components and kits. The CE mark means that Designtak's own production control (WPK) EN 1090-1 complies with the requirements of the harmonized standard. From 1 July 2014, all composite structural components will meet all requirements for the CE marking according to EN 1090-1.
